Have you ever tried putting a square peg into a round hole? That is sort of the problem this darling little puppy pupster has when he is given the biggest bone in the world and is told to take it into his cage. How on Earth will he ever make it fit? He tries again and again from various different angles – but never the correct angle because let’s not forget, he’s a dog and the bone is twice the size of both him and the doorway to the crate. ”Go to cage!” repeat his parents, and the dog dutifully tries to obey, gripping the massive bone in his teeth and trying to force it through a doorway that is much too small. But bless him, he is not going to give up easily and keeps banging the bone into the crate in his vainglorious efforts to be a good little boy and listen to his mommy and daddy.
The video ends before we get a definitive answer as to what happened next but I think it is safe to say that the little dog never quite makes it in his crate with the bone. At some point he gave up no matter how much his parents implored him to do it. Probably all that banging that rattled his teeth and brain each time he slammed the bone into it – and who could blame him? Here are some other things you might not know about dogs. For instance, did you know they could dream? When you see a dog twitching or moving their paws while sleeping, then they are in REM sleep and dreaming. I’m going to guess this little dog will be dreaming about trying to get big bones into tiny doorways for the next night or two at least. But maybe he’ll learn; after all, some dogs have the same basic intelligence you find in your average two year-old human being. Border Collies are the smartest dogs followed by Poodles, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers and Dobermans. Not only that, dogs have a phenomenal sense of smell that’s around ten thousand times better than our own. Perhaps the dog in this video should have smelled trouble when his parents opened the camera and started snickering as they told him to take it into his crate!
Dogs can actually share emotions with their owners too; everything from happiness to sadness, and from depression to jealousy – but also (and this is why we adore them so much) they can show us love and affection too. Ain’t dogs the best? Hopefully the little guy in this video got lots of love and affection once the cameras were turned off and someone helped him get that big old bone in that small crate. It is so big it might take him another ten years just to finish it off! Woof woof!
